  A Noticeable Absence In the heat of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the absence of former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh from the BJP campaign has become a talking point. The 82-year-old political veteran was conspicuously missing from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Patiala, which is also the home turf of his wife, Preneet Kaur. Preneet is contesting on a BJP ticket from this constituency. A minor girl was allegedly molested and gang-raped in a Mercedes car by juveniles in Hyderabad . An MLA's son was allegedly involved in the incident, said police sources, adding that all the five accused involved in the crime are minors. Police launched an investigation to verify the facts of the case, which was registered at Jubilee Hills police station on Wednesday, June 1. The incident took place on Saturday. Initially, a case was booked under Section 354 of the IPC and the POCSO Act against the three accused involved in the incident. The 17-year-old girl was sent for medical examination and police have now altered the case and added section 376 (gang rape) of the IPC to it. A senior police official told India Today TV that an MLA’s son and the chairman of a minority board were present at the party and had accompanied the girl.
