GOOGLE IS WORKING ON A NEW TECH THAT CAN READ YOUR BODY LANGUAGE WITHOUT USING CAMERAS

Image
There is no point in denying it, but automation is the future. Imagine a world where your TV pauses the movie or the show that you’re watching when it senses that you’ve stood up to fetch a fresh bowl of popcorn, and resumes playing the content when you return. Or how about a computer that senses you’re stressed out at work and starts playing some mellow and relaxing tunes? Well, as futuristic as these ideas seem, most of these things are happening now. However, one of the biggest reasons why it hasn’t taken off with a bang, is that these systems use cameras to record and analyse user behaviour. The problem with using cameras in such systems is that it raises a ton of privacy concerns. After all, people are actually paranoid about their computers and smartphones, keeping an eye on them. Google is actually working on a new system, that records and analyses users' movement and behaviour, without using cameras. Instead, the new tech uses radar to read your body movements and understan...

The report also says that Iran is continuing its enrichment of uranium to levels higher than the 3.67 percent limit in the deal. The stockpile of uranium enriched up to 20 percent is now estimated to be 238.4 kg, up 56.3 kg since the last report in March, while the amount enriched to 60 percent stands at 43.1 kg, an increase of 9.9 kg. Enrichment levels of around 90 percent are required for use in a nuclear weapon. Iran has always insisted its nuclear program is peaceful. A diplomatic...

China's population is about to shrink for the first time since the great famine struck 60 years ago. Here's what it means for the world

Image
The world’s biggest nation is about to shrink. China accounts for more than one sixth of the world’s population. Yet after four extraordinary decades in which China’s population has swelled from 660 million to 1.4 billion, its population is on track to turn down this year, for the first time since the great famine of 1959-1961. According to the latest figures from China’s National Bureau of Statistics, China’s population grew from 1.41212 billion to just 1.41260 billion in 2021 a record low increase of just 480,000, a mere fraction of the annual growth of eight million or so common a decade ago. While a reluctance to have children in the face of strict anti-COVID measures might have contributed to the slowdown in births, it has been coming for years. China’s total fertility rate (births per woman) was 2.6 in the late 1980s well above the 2.1 needed to replace deaths.
