Yogi Adityanath Orders BJP Cadres To Prioritise Voter List Revision Launch Door To Door SIR Drive
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed BJP MLAs and party office-bearers to treat the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists as their highest priority over the next month.
At a review meeting held in Gorakhpur’s Annexe auditorium, the Chief Minister instructed party cadres to carry out extensive door-to-door outreach to verify who has submitted SIR forms and who still needs to complete the process. He asked district units to organise voter-awareness camps in every booth and assign clear responsibilities to senior workers.

Adityanath emphasised the need to track voter mobility, especially those who have moved out or recently shifted into the booths, ensuring their names are correctly added or removed from the rolls. He also stressed verifying whether newly married women, whose names may have been deleted at their previous address, have been added to voter lists at their new homes.
Workers were asked to pay special attention to migrants who have arrived in Gorakhpur for employment, ensuring their names are duly included.
The Chief Minister instructed district presidents to deploy teams of ten workers per booth five men and five women to interact with voters and monitor SIR form submissions. MLAs were told to stay closely connected with booth-level workers and oversee claims-and-objections procedures meticulously.
He said rural areas should receive the same level of seriousness as urban centres in conducting SIR camps.
Referring to opposition criticism, Adityanath cautioned party workers not to underestimate rival efforts. “Do not assume that those opposing SIR are inactive; their cadres are working on the ground. BJP workers must match that commitment,” he said.
Reiterating the party’s goal, the Chief Minister urged the organisation to ensure no genuine voter is left out and no ineligible name remains on the rolls.
The meeting was attended by minister in-charge Swatantradev Singh, NISHAD Party president Sanjay Nishad, BJP state vice-president and SIR in-charge Dharmendra Singh, regional president Sahajanand Rai, local MLAs, district presidents and SIR convenors.
